MTS Driver Training

MTS has been in the plant hire industry for over 20 years and have recognised the need within the industry for training of operatives. MTS Training have specialist team of instructors that carry out plant and construction training and aims to give both companies and individuals quality and cost effective training.

MTS TRAINING provides training courses for the following categories:

Skidsteer loaders

» 360 0 Excavators above 10 ton;
» 360 0 Excavators below 10 ton;
» 180 0 Backhoe Loaders above 5 ton;
» 180 0 Backhoe Loaders below 5 ton;
» Forward Tipping Dumpers;
» Ride on Rollers.

All courses are offered to provide training to all levels of competence and at 3 standards, IR Bobcat Accredited Training, Lantra Awards and CPCS.

IR BOBCAT ACRREDITED TRAINING COURSES

Ideal for small business’s requiring the peace of mind that employees can operate plant safely and efficiently on their own site. This course covers the safety and basic operation of the specified machine. Upon completion of this course a certificate is issued (valid 3 years).

LANTRA AWARD TRAINING COURSES:

This course is a pass/fail course and covers the safety and operation of the specified machine, and at the end there is a driving test and question and answer test to complete. Upon successfully passing this course a Lantra Certificate and Card is issued (valid for 5 years) and operators are added to the Lantra Professional Register. This course is ideal for non-major construction sites.

COURSE DURATIONS:

Course durations are between 1 and 5 days depending on level of competence of the operator.

CPCS TRAINING COURSES:

This course is a pass/fail courses and covers the safety and operation of the specified machine and at the end there is a driving test and a question and answer test to complete. The CITB Health & Safety Test must also be completed prior to starting course. Upon successfully passing this course a CPCS red card, intermediate certificate and a log book will be issued (valid 3 years). This is now the only card accepted on major construction sites.

Once you have got your red card you can start to work towards getting your blue/green card. To get one of these competence cards you must register and complete an NVQ and also log 300 hours operating experience of your specified machine.

COURSE DURATIONS :

Course durations are 1 day for an experienced operator, or vary between 3 and 10 days for novices depending on the level of the plant category applied for :

Please note:
An experienced operator is someone who is:

» At least 21 years of age.
» Has at least three years general plant operating experience.
» Has 2 years minimum operating experience on category of plant applied for. (Evidence of which must be provided ).
